Catja is a freelance Lighting Designer based in the UK. Her work spans theatre, opera, musicals, and cabaret, and she has a particular interest in new writing.
Previous productions include: Private View (Soho Theatre); Balls (Royal Festival Hall); Wyld Woman: The Legend of Shy Girl (Southwark Playhouse); Semele (Opera Holland Park and Waterperry Opera Festival); King of Pangea (King’s Head Theatre); The Maids (Jermyn Street Theatre); Utoya (Arcola Theatre); The Mosinee Project (New Diorama Theatre); Scarlet Sunday (Omnibus Theatre); The Wolf, The Duck, and The Mouse (Unicorn Theatre); Rip Van Winkle (Hoxton Hall); Paradise Lost (The Shipwright); Hot Gay Time Machine (Soho Theatre).
Catja is an Associate Tutor at RADA and a co-Director of collaborative theatre company Airlock Theatre. She is a former Creative Associate of Jermyn Street Theatre and a previous Resident Designer at NDT Broadgate.
Catja has also worked on an Associate on productions at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Unicorn Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith, Hampstead Theatre, and UK tours. She was the Associate Lighting Designer on Fiddler on the Roof at the Barbican Theatre and on its UK tour in 2025.
